Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)

What is shockwave Therapy?

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy acoustic waves, known as shockwaves, to activate cellular repair and improve blood flow to injured tissues.

Originally developed to treat kidney stones, ESWT is now widely used to treat musculoskeletal conditions — especially chronic tendon and soft tissue pain.

How does it work?

Shockwaves are applied to the affected area using a handheld device. These waves:

  • Improve blood circulation to the injured tissues

  • Stimulate collagen production and tissue regeneration

  • Break down calcifications and scar tissue

  • Reduce inflammation and block pain signals

This promotes healing and provides long-lasting pain relief, often after just a few sessions.

Effective, non-invasive treatment for chronic pain

Conditions commonly treated with ESWT

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Achilles tendinitis

  • Tennis or golfer’s elbow

  • Shoulder tendinitis or calcific tendonitis

  • Patellar tendinitis (jumper’s knee)

  • Chronic muscle pain and trigger points

  • Myofascial Pain Syndrome

  • Calcific tendinitis

Why choose ESWT?

  • FDA-cleared technology

  • Non-invasive and drug-free

  • Short treatment time (typically 15–20 minutes per session)

  • No downtime – return to your normal activities immediately

  • Proven clinical results for chronic pain

What to expect during treatment

Most patients report minimal discomfort during the procedure. Treatment is typically done 1–2 times per week for several sessions, depending on the condition. You may begin to notice improvement after the first or second session.
